This very simple cable design creates a pretty wicker basket-weave effect with a pretty ruffled border.

 The cable stitches add a wonderfully chunky and warm texture to the blanket.

The pattern is written for multiple size blankets as follows:

Security / cuddle blanket - 16 x 24 inches, you will need approx 150 grams DK yarn

Pram blanket - 23 x 30 inches, you will need approx 300 grams DK yarn

Pushchair / stroller blanket - 30 x 35 inches, you will need approx 450 grams DK yarn

Cot / crib blanket - 44 x 60 inches, you will need approx 1000 grams DK yarn

ou will also need 5.5 mm knitting needles at least 40 cm long. Long circulars would be the best option for the larger blankets to accommodate all the stitches, and you will need a 5.5 mm cable needle.

 Familiarity with cable knitting would be an advantage for this pattern, intermediate knitting skills would be needed.
